The Freskenhof is a prime example of art and culture preservation

Joseph Dichtl was a particularly talented dealer during the “Kraxentrager” era. He even opened branches in Saint Petersburg and Moscow for his Bavarian goods and was appointed by the Tsarina as her major banker.

When he was old, Dichtl moved back home to his birthplace of Eglfing. There he and his wife built a house - the so-called Freskenhof. In 1970 it was purchased by the Mack restorer couple and saved from demolition.

Since then, the family has painstakingly restored the house and brought it back to its former glory.

The Freskenhof is open all year round.
