After a detour to the cool local waterfall, the route continues up on a ridge (approx. 700 metres above sea level) on which the idyllic hamlets of Pölten, Stern and Gröben are located. After enjoying breath-taking views from there of the pre-alpine landscape featuring mountains ranging from the Benediktenwand, Jochberg and Herzogstand as far as Heimgarten and the Zugspitze, as well as views of Benediktbeuren Abbey, Schlehdorf Abbey and the Walchensee Power Plant, the trail leads to the left over a shady hollow way down to the Loisach River near Kleinweil and back to the parking area at the Loisach bridge in Großweil, where there is also a monument in honour of the Loisach River rafters.
The old Church of St. Georg in Großweil, St. Korbinian in Kleinweil and St. Martin in Zell are definitely worth a visit during the hike.
From Großweil you can also take a detour to the open-air museum of the Upper Bavarian district on the Glentleiten, which also particularly ensures a successful change of scenery for families with children with its old houses, mills, pond systems and various animals.
