Was it the taverns? Or the Wetterstein Mountains with the Zugspitze? Maybe the view of the Murnauer Moos? The manageability of the place in contrast to big cities like Berlin, Budapest or Vienna? Parents' villa? The experiences in the place? The reverse glass painter Heinrich Rambold? The encounters with the painter Gabriele Münter? The summer and winter sports options? Why was the place not only the center of Ödön von Horváth's life but also a place of inspiration for almost ten years? Why are Horváth's works still so relevant today?
Discover the answers on this circular route. It leads to impressive scenic viewpoints, lets you explore buildings and inns with a special history and shows you unusual sides of the town of Murnau. During the walk you will learn a lot about the writer, his works and his connection to Murnau experiences, personalities and events.
