The hiker moves on quasi-historical terrain when he walks the Hungerbach circular route. It was there, around Spatzenhausen, that the Graf Arco Battle of Bavaria against the Tyroleans took place in 1809, which is still commemorated every year with a shooting of the same name. Back then, during the times of Emperor Franz and Napoleon, the farmers courageously and successfully defended their towns against the plundering enemy. A cannonball, which is privately owned, and a Graf Arco monument in Spatzenhausen still bear witness to this battle.
