Directions
The leisurely, not strenuous, and not very shady tour begins in Murnau's Froschhausen district at the St. Leonhardi Church, where every November hundreds of riders and horses gather for the Leonhardi ride to have their animals blessed.
First the route leads on a tar road to Egling, soon it goes over a dirt road through the Brugger campsite to a beautiful swimming spot and then on to Riegsee via Hofheim and past the bird sanctuary. Always near the lake, hikers enjoy the beautiful landscape with its diverse impressions. On the way back to Froschhausen, the route leads directly along the banks of the Riegsee and later past the Froschhauser See, offering the best opportunities for a further short cooling-off or a relaxing swim stop.
