Gravel biking has long been more than just a trend - in regions like the foothills of the Alps, the gravel bike is even replacing the mountain bike.
In the hilly area of Pfaffenwinkel and the Zugspitz region, gravel bikers will find ideal topography and many gravel and farm paths, which were preferred wherever possible when selecting the routes under the theme “Gravel biking with a view of the Zugspitze”. The routes also lead into the Alps for the sporting challenge. Every start and finish location is connected to the rail network, so that it is always possible to return to the start location.

Directions
Even though the last stage is the shortest at 46 kilometers, it still offers gravel fun at the highest level.
Away from civilization, we crisscross the foothills of the Alps. The topography is hilly, with only one or two longer climbs in the first third. From Habach you pass countless small lakes and roll through the typical moorland landscapes, called Filzen.
On hot days it's worth having swimming trunks with you. Also a bit of food, as there are few places to stop for refreshments directly along the route.
