The foothills of the Alps are one of the most fascinating landscapes in Germany, and even in all of Europe.
In the foothills of the Alps, the Ice Age glaciers left behind, in addition to the many lakes, hundreds of smaller and larger moor areas, so-called felts. These unique biotopes are now the habitat of rare animal and plant species. The bike is the best choice to explore and experience this diverse landscape up close.

Directions
The towns of Murnau or Bad Bayersoien are ideal starting points for this natural loop.
From the nice spa village of Bad Bayersoien with its moor lake, you first go over to Bad Kohlgrub and on a long, slightly sloping route down to the world-famous Murnauer Moos.
Past the Ähndl inn - where the Murnauer Moos Biological Station is also located - you drive up to the Obermarkt in Murnau. The pedestrian zone lined with historic houses invites you to take a break and take a short stroll through the romantic city center.
After circling Lake Staffelsee, you immerse yourself in nature again and cycle along lonely forest roads back to the starting point in Bad Bayersoien.
