Unique, deep gorge

Hiking trails lead through this unique, deep gorge with waterfalls, ice boulders, bridges and tunnels.

The Höllentalklamm is closed in winter. Depending on snow conditions, the gorge opens at the end of May or beginning of June and usually closes again after the third weekend in October. For current information, please see the information on the Website of the German Alpine Club.

During opening hours, the gorge is open 24 hours a day.

Every spring, the Höllentalklamm is cleared of ice and snow masses with considerable effort, damage is repaired and the paths, bridges and tunnels are secured and made accessible.

You cannot go through the gorge by bike, not even with a wheelchair or stroller.

The temperatures in the gorge are cool even on midsummer days, water drips from the walls and in the tunnels and sometimes runs on the ground. You should definitely wear good hiking shoes and a rain jacket.

Please keep in mind that, despite the good development of the paths, the Höllentalklamm is part of a harsh natural environment and therefore special attention and caution are required.
