Located at the foot of the 1.790 meter high Heimgarten, Ohlstadt offers relaxation with mountain climbing, hiking, cycling, swimming, tubing and gliding in the midst of beautiful nature. You can always see the Ammergau Alps, the Wetterstein Mountains with the Zugspitze and the Ester Mountains.
Friedrich August von Kaulbach's studio is now accessible as a museum and shows pictures and furnishings by the so-called "painter prince".
