Museums/Collections

The Werdenfels Museum in Garmisch-Partenkirchen was created in 1895 from a private collection. The museum has been housed in a former merchant's house since 1973
17th century. The history and culture of Werdenfelser Land is presented in the Werdenfels Museum. There you can see early historical archaeological finds as well as sacred objects, rural folk art, and civil and rural living culture. The carnival room with various types of masks is also worth seeing. They give an overview of the carnival tradition in this area. The Werdenfels Museum is one of the most important in Bavaria.
